Unique replica of Amphora from the Thracian treasure discovered in Panagyurishte

On December 8, 1949, during the excavation works of the tile factory in Panagyurishte, the three brothers Pavel, Petko and Mihail Dekove encountered a cult Thracian set of nine golden courts. There were other workers around them, but the three decide to take care of it. They cleaned the treasure and pass it on to the district chief Stefan Kalpakov. The gold treasure is displayed behind the towel factury windows. The Panagyurishte treasure was moved to the Plovdiv Museum, then to the Archaeological Institute in Sofia and finally moved to the National Museum of History.

The Panagyurishte Gold Treasure is an antique set that belonged to an unknown Odyssey tribe from the end of the I century and the beginning of the 3rd century BC. It consists of 9 golden vessels with rich decoration - one phial and 8 rhytons, with a total weight of 6,164 kg of gold.

The largest object is an amphora-rhyton with weight - 1695.25g. The amphora is a symbol of Thracian art. The amphora's handles are formed in the upper part as figures of centaurs. The scene on the body of the court is interpreted as "The Seven against Thebes" or as a festive procession.

The replica is made of copper and is covered with 24 carat gold plating by the electroplating method. The height of the replica is 26 cm, the width is 20 cm and the capacity is 1 l. It is luxuriously wrapped in a handmade wooden box and has a certificate of authenticity.

Unique and unforgettable gift, a symbol of grace, class and antique uniqueness!
