A replica of a jug of the Borovian treasure

The jug of the Borovian Thracian treasure (near Rousse) is gilded characters, which are engraved on it.  The scenes decorating this unique vessel are of feasting and dancing figures. One of the figures portrays God Dionysus and the other - Heracles. The image of Heracles holds a rhyton in his hand.

The silver Thracian treasure was found in 1974 by Traycho Velikov Stoev 2 km from the village of Borovo. The machines that took out the treasure damaged it with its cutting tools, but after the precise work of the restorers it was renovated and revealed its original glamorous appearance. The objects in the treasure are 5 silver vessels, partially gilded and have very interesting shape and decoration.

The Borovo silver treasure dates back to the second quarter-middle of the 4th century BC. from the time of Odysseus king Kotytis I, as can be seen from the inscriptions with his name on two of the found vessels.

The replica is galvanized, silver-plated and gilded, wrapped in a luxurious wooden box. The dimensions of the wooden box are - length: 25 cm, width: 19 cm, height: 12,5 cm. The weight of the box with the replica is 800 g.
