Killix, a replica of the treasure in Golyama Kosmatka

The tomb of the Thracian king Seuthes III was opened in 2004. It was built in the second half of the 5th century BC and is located in the Golyamata Kosmatka hill, 1 km south of the town Shipka and 12 km north of the town Kazanlak. In this tomb were found 74 objects, 20 of which are gold. One of the most interesting discoveries is the golden killix, an elegant antique wine vessel.

The killix is an antique glass wine cup with its two horizontal handles and a stool that varies in height. The killixes are examples of ancient Greek pottery and are mostly made of clay and, more rarely, of metal. They are mostly decorated with figural elements, plant ornaments or mythological scenes.

The replica of the killix is made of cooper and it is gilded with 24 carat gold. The size of the replica is - height - 85 mm, diameter 105 mm and capacity -130 ml. The replica is made in an eerie way and can be used as a wine pot.

This replica was given to President Putin during his visit to Bulgaria!

The replica is extremely suitable by the selection of protocol gifts. Often it is bought for a luxurious  wedding gift!

This is a letter from our client and friend:

Mrs. Popova,

My friend Bobby liked the killix very much.

All the time we drank wine at his place

he was drinking from it.

I'm sending you a picture of him.

Best regards!
